David Bachelor

David_and_Iraqi_boy.JPGDavid  Bachelor has served as a Navy Reserve chaplain since 2003. He was an Army Infantry officer in the 1980’s earning his jump wings and Ranger tab. As a chaplain he served two tours in Iraq with Marine aviation and infantry units. He is an ordained minister with the United Methodist Church in a rural parish in New Mexico. He and his wife Glenda have been married 28 years and have three grown children. The toughest deployment for him was the one when Glenda was battling breast cancer.

Glenda Bachelor grew up as a military dependant or “Air Force brat.” Against her father’s advice she married a G.I. That G.I was a young army officer named David Bachelor. Glenda uses her own deployment experience as military dependant daughter and then as a military wife to complete the Warrior Wash ministry. Her insights help warriors and dependants overcome the friction of returning from war.

David is nearing completion of a doctoral degree at Trinity Southwest University. Once this is completed, David and Glenda plan to devote themselves to the full time ministry of providing care to veterans and their families.
